Terms of use

MiPR Servicios («the site») is a directory of service professionals in Puerto Rico. Its job is to help you find who to call and to give you information so you can decide better.

The site is not, and nothing it says should be read as:

• An employer. The professionals listed are independent third parties. They do not work for us and we do not work for them.
• A service provider. We do not install, repair, build or supervise any work.
• A middleman in the contract. We do not set prices, we do not charge for the work, we do not hold payments, and we take no part in the agreement between you and the professional.
• A recommendation. Appearing on the site is not an endorsement from us, and the order in which listings are shown is not for sale.

Every profile always shows one of these three states, and they mean different things:

• Public listing. The information comes from a public source that we cite on the profile itself. The business has not claimed the profile and we do not claim any relationship with it. It may be out of date or carry errors from the original source.
• Claimed profile. Someone proved to us that they control that business and can edit its profile. Claiming does not mean we have checked any credential.
• Verified. On top of the above, we checked the credential the law requires for that trade with the authority that issues it, and at the time of the check it was valid.

The verified badge is not an absolute guarantee nor a promise about the quality of the work. It checks one specific fact at one specific moment. A license can be revoked, expire or be suspended after we look at it, and a valid credential says nothing about whether the work will be done well, whether the price is fair, or whether the professional will meet the deadlines.

The decision to hire is yours, and so is sizing the person up. Before agreeing to a job it is on you to:

• ask for and check on your own the license or registration that applies;
• ask for references and compare more than one quote;
• ask about insurance and about who answers if something goes wrong;
• put the agreement in writing, with scope, price and dates.

On the homepage, under Before you hire, we link to the public tools of the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) for making these checks.

Using the site needs no account. Claiming or managing a business does, and it is created with a link we send you by email. We do not use passwords.

• You are responsible for access to your email: whoever controls it can get into your account.
• An account belongs to one person. Do not share it or hand it over.
• We may suspend or close an account used to impersonate a business, send spam or abuse the forms.

Searching is free, there is no sign-up, and we ask you for no details. You pick the trade and the town and see who works there. By using it you understand that:

• you make contact yourself, directly with the business: we do not act as a middleman and we do not pass your request to anyone;
• we do not guarantee that a business is available, that it will answer, or what it charges;
• we are not party to whatever is agreed afterwards, and we do not answer for what is promised off the site.

If you submit a business or claim a profile, you undertake that:

• the information is true and current, license numbers included;
• you have authority to represent that business;
• you will tell us if a credential expires, is suspended or is revoked.

Every registration and every claim goes through manual review before being published. Nobody can publish, verify or promote themselves from within the application. We may reject, edit or withdraw a listing if the information does not add up, if we detect impersonation, or if the authority that issues the credential says otherwise.

The verified badge is removed on its own when the credential expires. Getting it back requires a fresh check.

It stays yours. By sending it you give us permission to show it on the site and in search results, and to store it for as long as the listing exists. We do not sell it.

Do not send third-party content you have no rights to, nor other people's personal data without their permission.

Some of the content comes from public sources and may be wrong or out of date. If you see an error:

• use the Report a problem link at the bottom of every profile;
• if the business is yours, claim it and correct it yourself;
• if you would rather the listing disappeared, tell us through the same form and we take it down.

We handle correction and removal requests within a reasonable time. We do not charge for it.

By using the site you agree not to:

• pass yourself off as a business or a person you are not;
• send false, repeated or automated requests, or flood the forms;
• scrape the content in bulk or resell it as a database;
• try to reach other users' data or administration features.

The site may show third-party advertising. When it does, it will always be labelled as Advertising and kept apart from the listings.

Ads have no bearing on the order of the results. We do not sell featured positions, leads, or subscriptions to appear higher up. Nor do we answer for the content of the ads or for the sites they lead to.

We link to public agency sites, to businesses' own pages, and to WhatsApp or the phone when the business provides them. We do not control those sites and do not answer for their content, their availability or their privacy practices.

The site is offered as is, with no guarantee that the information is complete, current or free of errors, and no guarantee of uninterrupted availability.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not answer for the work, the conduct, the damages, the delays or the breaches of a professional hired through the site, nor for the decisions you make based on the information published. The contractual relationship is between you and that professional.

None of this limits the rights that the law of Puerto Rico grants you and that cannot be waived by contract.

We may update this text. The date of the last review appears above. If a change is significant we will announce it on the site. Continuing to use it after a change means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
