You can write to us from the contact page.

Only what you give us or what is needed to serve the page.

• Account. Your email address. We store no passwords: you sign in with a single-use link.
• Searches. Nothing. Picking a trade and a town on the homepage only takes you to a results page: nothing is sent, nothing is stored, and no sign-up is needed.
• Business registration. Business name, contact person, phone, email, category, town, license number if you supply one, and the description you write.
• Claiming a profile. How you want us to check that the business is yours, your role, your contact details, and any evidence you attach.
• Reporting a listing. The reason, the detail, and, if you leave one, an email to reply to.
• Contact form. Your name, your email and the message you write. They are stored so the request can be handled and forwarded to the email of whoever runs the site.
• Technical data. What any web server records when serving a page (IP address, browser, date), in our hosting provider's logs and for a short time.

We neither ask for nor want sensitive data: social security numbers, bank details, or health information. Do not send them through the forms.

• Showing the directory and making it searchable by trade and town.
• Reviewing and approving business registrations and profile claims.
• Checking credentials with the authority that issues them.
• Handling reports of wrong information and contact messages.
• Preventing impersonation, spam and abuse of the forms.
• Meeting legal obligations where they apply.

We do not use your data to profile you for advertising, nor to sell you anything.

• With nobody, if you are only searching. Browsing the directory shares nothing with any business: they do not know you came in or that you searched for their trade. You are the one who decides who to call.
• With our infrastructure providers. The database and the authentication run on Supabase, the site is served from a hosting provider, and the forwarding of contact messages goes through FormSubmit, a forms service. They handle the data on our behalf, not for their own purposes.
• With an authority when the law requires it, or to check a credential a business presents to us.

We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we do not hand it to data brokers.

The ones needed for the site to work are the session cookies Supabase sets when you sign in to your account: they keep you identified between pages and renew the session. If you do not sign in to an account, they are not set.

There are also cookies that are not essential: the measurement ones (Google Analytics) and the advertising ones (Google AdSense). We cover each one in its own section, with how to turn it off.

You can delete or block them from your browser. If you do, you will not be able to stay signed in; searching the directory works just the same.

The site uses Google Analytics to know how many people come in, where they arrive from and which pages they look at. That is what tells us which towns and which trades are missing, which is one of the few things you cannot guess without measuring it.

Google receives the address of the page you are viewing, where you came from, your browser language, the kind of device, and a truncated version of your IP address. We do not send it your name, your email, your phone, or anything you type into the forms, and we do not cross that data with your account if you have one.

For that it sets first-party cookies beginning with _ga. You can delete them from your browser, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on so that none of your visits are measured, here or anywhere else. The search works just the same with measurement turned off.

We do not use social network pixels.

The site shows advertising from Google. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site, and advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google handles that data under its own policy, not ours.

We never pass the advertising network anything you type into the forms, nor your email.

You can turn off personalised advertising from Google at My Ad Center, and from other vendors at aboutads.info. If you turn them off you will still see ads, just not tailored to you.

How Google uses data from sites that use its services is explained in its terms for partner sites.

Part of the directory is business listings taken from public sources, which we cite on each profile. They are professional contact details — trade name, phone, town — not private personal data, and the profile says clearly that the business has not claimed it and that we have no relationship with them.

If you are the owner and would rather not appear, write to us or use the report form on the profile and we take it down. You do not need to create an account to ask.

• Searches: they are not stored, so there is nothing to keep and nothing to delete.
• Contact messages: as long as needed to answer them and settle what they raise.
• Accounts and business profiles: as long as the account or the listing exists.
• Claims and credentials: as long as the profile is active, because they are the record of why it was approved or verified.
• Technical logs: the short period our hosting provider sets.

You can ask us at any time to:

• tell you what data of yours we hold;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your account and the data tied to it;
• take down a business listing.

Write to us from the contact page. We reply within a reasonable time and we do not charge for it. We may keep the minimum needed to meet a legal obligation or to record why something was taken down.

Data travels encrypted and access is restricted in the database itself with per-row rules: a user can only read or edit their own, even if they tried going through the API directly. The emails from business registrations and the internal review notes are not public.

No system is infallible. If a breach occurred that affected you, we would tell you.

The site is meant for adults hiring services. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If any reaches us, we delete it.

If we change anything, we update the review date shown above. If the change is significant, we will announce it on the site.
